  5. 05Each window is in its own city clock, so the overlaps move with daylight saving exactly as they do in the market.

Worth knowing

Which overlap has the most movement?
London and New York, for the few hours they share. Two of the largest centres are dealing at once, which usually shows up as tighter spreads and larger ranges.
When is the forex market closed?
From Friday evening to Sunday evening New York time. The clock greys out over the weekend rather than counting down to a session that is not coming.
Do these times move?
The local windows stay put, but the gaps between them shift, because the four cities change their clocks on different dates. That is why the overlaps are worth reading rather than memorising.
