Trading journals and verified records, compared
Ten trading journals side by side, and which of them publish a record your broker verified.
Editorial disclosureWe publish this page and we are on it.Read the disclosure: where we are behind, how we checked
DT Terminal publishes this page and is one of the entries. Where we are behind: there is no stock broker sync and futures sync only through Tradovate, TradeLocker P&L is calculated before fees, we do not check that the person publishing a record is the account holder (Myfxbook does, for MT4 and MT5), and the iPhone and Android apps are not in the stores yet. The verification facts were read on each vendor's own pages on 5 October 2026. Myfxbook and Collective2 blocked our checker, so their facts come from archived copies of their own pages. The journal facts come from our journal guide, checked on 10 September 2026. Prices and plans change, so confirm on the vendor's site before you buy.

The ten journals
DT Terminal
A trading verification platform, with a journal and backtester.
Watch out: No stock sync yet, and futures sync only through Tradovate.
Full entry
- What it is for
- A trading verification platform: trades pulled from the broker build a public DT Passport, and the journal and backtester sit on the same trades so you can see how you improve.
- Limitation
- No stock broker sync yet, so stock trades arrive by file and never earn the seal. Futures sync only through Tradovate.
- Suits
- Forex, CFD, crypto and prop challenge traders who want a record someone else can check. Free verifies one cTrader or crypto exchange account; MT4 and MT5 verification starts on Verified at $9 a month.
TradeZella
All market journal
Watch out: Entry plan: one active account, no trade replay, no automated backtesting.
Full entry
- What it is for
- A journal, backtester and reporting tool in one, aimed at traders who want everything in a single subscription. Web.
- Limitation
- The entry plan is the one most people compare on price, and it has one active account, no trade replay and no automated backtesting.
- Suits
- Traders who want the widest automatic sync, including futures and stocks, and will pay monthly for it.
TraderSync
All market journal
Watch out: Pro caps you at five accounts, and the broker list is not public.
Full entry
- What it is for
- A journal with a market replay simulator and AI coaching, covering stocks, forex, futures, crypto and options. Web.
- Limitation
- Pro is capped at five trading accounts, and the broker coverage that is the main selling point cannot be checked before you sign up.
- Suits
- Options and multi asset traders who want replay and coaching, and are willing to trial it to see if their broker is covered.
TradesViz
Analytics heavy journal
Watch out: Free imports stock trades alone; replay and backtesting need the top tier.
Full entry
- What it is for
- A journal built around charts and analysis, with a large number of automated visualisations and several AI tools. Web.
- Limitation
- The free plan imports stock trades only, so forex, futures and crypto traders are on a paid plan from the start, and replay and backtesting need the top tier.
- Suits
- Traders who want the most analysis per dollar and are happy for the deeper testing features to sit on the top plan.
Trademetria
All market journal
Watch out: No replay or backtesting, and free stops at 30 orders a month.
Full entry
- What it is for
- A journal for stocks, futures, options, forex, crypto and CFDs, running since 2016 and claiming over 80,000 users. Web.
- Limitation
- No replay or backtesting, and the free plan stops at 30 orders a month with three open positions tracked.
- Suits
- Traders who want to check that their exact brokers sync before paying, across stocks, futures and forex.
Tradervue
Review focused journal
Watch out: No testing of any kind, and no discount for paying yearly.
Full entry
- What it is for
- One of the older journals, built for reviewing trades you have already taken: import, tag, see entries and exits on a chart, and report on the results. Web.
- Limitation
- No testing of any kind, so ideas have to be tested elsewhere, and there is no discount for paying yearly.
- Suits
- Stock and options traders who want deep review of live trades and already backtest somewhere else.
Edgewonk
Analytics journal, one payment
Watch out: Over a year paid up front, and most platforms outside MetaTrader arrive by file.
Full entry
- What it is for
- A journal aimed at the psychology and statistics of your own trading, sold as a single licence rather than a subscription.
- Limitation
- You pay for well over a year up front, and outside MetaTrader most platforms arrive by file rather than syncing.
- Suits
- MetaTrader traders who want deep statistics and psychology tracking, and prefer one payment to a subscription.
TraderMake.money
Crypto journal with an MCP
Watch out: Crypto alone, and the free tier shows about a month of history.
Full entry
- What it is for
- A crypto only journal and profit tracker, branded TMM, built around exchange connections and dashboards you assemble from widgets.
- Limitation
- Crypto only, and the free tier shows about a month of history on a single connection.
- Suits
- Crypto traders who want their journal readable by an AI assistant without paying extra for the privilege.
TradeJournal.co
AI first journal
Watch out: No testing, and the assistant connection needs the paid plan.
Full entry
- What it is for
- A journal built around an AI mentor and an assistant connection, covering stocks, options, forex, crypto and futures. Web.
- Limitation
- No testing of any kind, and the assistant connection that is its main draw is gated to the paid plan.
- Suits
- Traders who want an AI mentor and a journal their own AI client can query, and who do not need backtesting.
A spreadsheet or Notion
The free baseline
Watch out: A typed record cannot be verified, and it lapses in bad weeks.
Full entry
- What it is for
- A sheet in Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers, or a Notion database. Total control over the fields, and the only tool on this list you can shape exactly to your own method.
- Limitation
- A typed record cannot be verified by anyone, and filling it in competes with trading, so it is usually the first thing to lapse in a bad week.
- Suits
- Traders logging a few trades a week who want complete control, no cost, and no account anywhere.
FAQ
A journal is a private record you keep to improve. A verified record is read from the broker, so others can trust it. DT Terminal builds the verified record, then journals the same trades.
DT Terminal, on a public DT Passport. For the other journals, the pages we read for our guide did not describe one, and a spreadsheet cannot be verified.
Futures, yes, through Tradovate: its accounts and prop firms on it connect read-only and earn the seal once trades match Tradovate's settled ledger. Stock brokers do not sync yet, so stock trades arrive by file and never earn the seal.
