How it will work

    Connect the assistant

    You will point an MCP client at DT Terminal and sign in once, the way you connect any other tool to it.

    Grant the scopes

    Each area is its own permission, granted or withheld one at a time, and revocable later.

    Ask, and act

    Read the record, then change it: file a review, tag a trade, open a backtest. Placing a trade at your broker will never be one of them.

Reads and writes

Other journals ship a connector that can only read.

This one is being built to add and remove things as well: write the review, tag the trade, archive the account. Every write is scoped, and broker execution is not on the list at any scope.

The MCP connector is being built and cannot be connected today. Nothing on this page is available yet, and this notice comes down when it ships. Edge, the AI coach inside the terminal, is live now.

Questions

What is MCP?

The Model Context Protocol is an open standard for connecting an AI assistant to a tool it can read and use. An assistant that speaks it can work with any product that publishes a connector, without a bespoke integration for each one.

When will the connector be live?

There is no date to give. It is in development, and this page will say so until it ships. The tense on every sentence here is the honest answer.

Will it be able to change my journal?

That is the intent: reads and writes, so an assistant can file a review or tag a trade rather than only describe one. Each area will be its own permission, and you will grant them one at a time.

Will it be able to place trades at my broker?

No. Broker connections are read-only by design and will stay that way. No scope will ever open order execution, whatever the assistant asks for.

What should I do in the meantime?

Start the journal, so there is a record worth reading when the connector opens. Edge, the coach inside the app, already reads your trades, notes and backtests today.

Can I run DT Terminal from Claude?

Soon. We are building an MCP connector that opens the whole of DT Terminal to Claude: every workspace and every piece of your data, to read and to act on, with your consent per scope. It works with any assistant that speaks MCP, and it is in development, not live yet.
