Learn the setup in the backtester, trade it with your broker synced in on Pro, assess every fill with Edge AI, and finish with a record a stranger can check. One terminal, in your browser and on your desktop.
Written examples. Edge writes yours from your own trades, journals, and pulses.
The Loop
Most tools stop at recording what happened. DT Terminal runs the whole circuit: practise the setup before it costs you anything, trade it with your broker feeding the journal itself, let Edge AI read the result back to you, and end up with a record that is verified rather than claimed.
Pillar 1
Practise before it costs you.
Pillar 2
Your journal fills itself.
Pillar 3
Find what you would miss.
Pillar 4
Claimed, or proven.
End-to-End Workflows
Already know what you're doing? Drop into a complete playbook that strings the three pillars together for your trading style.
A repeatable intraday workflow where the broker keeps the record and you keep the discipline
A discipline-driven swing workflow where every position lives inside a planned period
Your full guide to every Pro feature and how it sharpens your edge
Pillar 1 · Learn
A full charting replay environment: pick an instrument, scrub through candles, simulate trades with realistic cost handling, and review the session with Edge when you're done. Built for skill reps, not vanity equity curves.
Leave the strategy field empty. Reflection prompts ask about pattern recognition and execution feel.
Link a defined strategy; a pre-session modal asks you to commit to its criteria before bars start moving, and every entry is checked against them.
After a session, run a deep AI review: execution quality, rule adherence against a linked strategy, pattern detection, takeaways. Cached on the session so re-opens are free.
Pillar 1 · Learn
A strategy in DT Terminal is a structured playbook for one type of setup: entry criteria, invalidation, instruments, sessions. Link trades to it and every analytics surface lights up with per-strategy performance.
Trading Lab → Strategies → + New. Add name, description, instruments, if/then entry criteria, the exact invalidation level, session windows, and sizing rules.
Stuck on a name, criteria, or invalidation line? Open the Brainstorm drawer from the strategy form header. Edge suggests inline rows for each field. Accept what fits, dismiss the rest, keep typing where Edge left off. Built around the gold-ring AI signature so you know exactly what's AI-generated.
Pillar 1 · Learn
Set monthly targets for the behaviours that actually compound: journaling consistency, rule adherence, post-trade reflection. P&L goals work too, but process goals survive a losing week.
Journal every trading day, reflect on every losing trade, follow your rules.
Win rate, profit factor, average R, or net P&L over a period.
Master one new setup, reduce one mistake type, finish a stretch of clean sessions.
Pillar 2 · Execute
Connect where you trade, once, and every fill arrives on its own with entry, exit, size and fees intact. This is what turns a journal you have to remember to keep into one that keeps itself.
MT4, MT5, cTrader, TradeLocker, Tradovate and supported crypto exchanges. 418+ brokers and prop firms are listed by name, any other MT4 or MT5 broker connects the same way, and a statement or screenshot covers the rest. Free verifies one account that is not MT4 or MT5, on your passport; Pro verifies MT4 and MT5 too and syncs every account into your journal.
The connection can read your trade history and nothing else. It cannot place an order, move a stop, or touch your money.
MetaTrader 5 hands over two years of history, so connecting is not a fresh start. The record you already have comes with you.
Synced trades land in an account of their own instead of mixing into one you have been journalling by hand, which is what stops the same trade being counted twice.
Already logged those trades by hand? Your screenshots, notes, tags and review move onto the synced copies and the hand-typed originals retire. One click finishes the move, and it stays reversible for 30 days.
When a synced trade looks like one you already logged, it waits for you to decide rather than quietly landing twice.
Every firm we support is written up with spreads, funding, platforms and payout terms, and you can read all of it without an account. Verifying one account that is not MT4 or MT5 is free too. Syncing into your journal is the Pro part.
Pillar 2 · Execute
Logging is fast on purpose. Friction belongs in review, not capture. Whatever path you use, every trade lands in the unified Trade Log with the same fields and the same review surface.
Press T or + New Trade. Symbol, Entry, Exit, Size required. Everything else optional: SL/TP, notes, screenshots, reflection, strategy, tags, rules-violated.
Paste a chart screenshot. Edge parses entry/exit/size and pre-fills the form. Paste a broker statement and Edge batch-logs every trade.
More than a dozen platforms and prop firms, including Tradovate, NinjaTrader, MT4/5, Exness, WealthCharts and Binance XLSX, plus a Generic CSV template that covers cTrader, TradingView and anything else that exports rows. Duplicates auto-skipped.
Pillar 2 · Execute
Every book you trade, kept apart, with balances that stay honest and challenge rules that hold you to them.
Deposits, withdrawals and payouts are recorded as their own thing rather than folded into profit, so growth from trading and growth from funding never get confused.
Pick the firm and the program, and the daily loss limit, maximum drawdown and target come with it. Trailing and static drawdown are different rules, and the card tells you which one you are on.
One, two or three phases, then Funded. Advance a phase and the rules for the next one load themselves.
On a funded account, a tracker sits beside the rules showing how far you are from earning the evaluation fee back.
DT Terminal will warn you as you approach a limit. It cannot stop you trading and it is not a substitute for your firm's own dashboard, which remains the thing that decides whether you passed.
Pillar 2 · Execute
Pulses are your real-time emotional record: what you were thinking and feeling before you knew the outcome. Hindsight bias wrecks reviews; pulses are the antidote.
Press P anywhere. 1-3 sentences. Optionally attach a screenshot or link an open trade. Tag emotions on Pro to surface cross-period patterns.
Auto-attached to that day's journal, linked to active Structured Analysis periods, visible on the trade detail view when linked to a trade.
Free: 3 pulses per day. Pro: unlimited pulses plus Pulse Tags.
Pillar 3 · Assess
Edge AI is a coach, not an oracle. It reads your trades, pulses, journals, strategies, and sessions, then asks the questions you'd ask yourself if you weren't tired. Look for the rotating gold ring: that's the visual signature for 'this is an AI action' across the entire app.
On individual trades, strategies, sessions, and reflections you'll find an Ask Edge button. Edge automatically loads the right context. No need to copy-paste anything.
On any closed trade, draft a post-trade reflection in seconds. Edge reads the trade, your strategy, your rules, and your pulses, then writes a draft you can edit before saving.
Drop a chart screenshot into the Edge dropzone. Entry/exit/size parsed automatically. Drop a broker statement and Edge batch-imports multiple trades at once.
Settings → What Edge Knows is your profile as Edge reads it. Your record fills in style, instruments, sessions and accounts; you add experience, your next 90 days, your biggest leak and how you want to be coached. Edge weaves this into every reply.
Plain chat is metered in messages. Deeper actions (Analyse-with-Edge, batch import, deep reviews) cost credits. Free: 20 messages/month + 10 starter credits. Pro: unlimited chat + 100 credits/month. Credit packs from $10.
Pillar 3 · Assess
Two complementary layers: Daily Journal captures one trading day, Structured Analysis captures a defined period (a week, a month, a strategy test). Both auto-link to your trades and pulses for that window.
Before, During and After phases: Pre-Market Plan, Market Outlook, Intraday Check-ins, Post-Market Reflection. Fill in the phases you actually use. Free on every plan.
Rich text inside every phase: sections, screenshots, slash commands (/link-trade). A partial entry is still a real entry.
A container for a weekly/monthly/custom window. Define market bias, key levels, invalidation, and per-instrument notes. Pulses, trades, and daily journals from that window auto-link in. End-of-period review unlocks when the period ends: extract one keep, one cut, one improvement for next time. Pro adds the Timeline view and the Guided Review.
Pillar 3 · Assess
All metrics derived from your trade log. Filter by account, tag, strategy, or date range to slice anything. PnL display respects your chosen mode ($, %, R, or hidden) everywhere.
Net P&L, win rate, profit factor, average R, expectancy. Equity curve and max drawdown.
Hour-of-day performance to spot high-edge windows. Day-of-week breakdown. Monthly/weekly comparisons. Calendar heatmap.
Account filter (Pro). Tag + strategy filters. Combine filters to drill into one behaviour.
Holding-time analysis and the correlation between duration and profitability. Surfaces overtrading and exit-too-early tendencies.
Pillar 3 · Assess
You don't need more data. You need the one signal worth acting on this week. The Coach raises it along the bottom of your screen, and the weekly report gives you the longer recap on whichever day you pick.
A drawer along the bottom of the screen that reads how your recent trading is going and says what to change: a slipping win rate, gains handed back, broken risk rules, unreviewed trades, unjournalled days. It is a fixed set of rules, not AI, so it never invents a recommendation. Free for all users, no credits.
The prior week in one report: net P&L, win rate, the equity curve, P&L by weekday, activity and goal progress, with deltas against the week before. Pick the day and time it lands in Settings, or switch it off. Free on every plan; the in-app Monthly tab is Pro.
Morning context loaded automatically: overnight news, macro events for the day, notable instruments to watch. Plan starts from current context, not yesterday's narrative.
Pillar 3 · Assess
The logging streak rewards consistency, not perfection. Show up every trading day with a journal entry, a pulse, or a logged real trade. Earned freezes protect the streak across travel and sick days so one missed entry doesn't undo a month of discipline.
Logging a trade, writing a Daily Journal, adding a Pulse, ending a backtest session, or burning a freeze. Any one of them is enough.
Freezes accumulate as you hit streak milestones. They sit waiting until you need them: travel, vacation, sick days, or just one of those days. A celebration modal acknowledges the milestone with animated flame keyframes.
Broke your streak by accident? If you have freezes available, the streak badge offers one-tap retroactive recovery. It applies a freeze to the broken day and resumes the streak without restarting from zero.
Hourly streak-reminder emails for at-risk streaks. If a streak does break and you have a freeze banked, a separate notification tells you how to spend it and pick the streak back up. Daily reminders only fire if you haven't logged anything yet.
Pillar 4 · Prove
Every other journal takes your word for it. Here, a number pulled from your broker is marked differently from a number you typed, and the difference is visible to anyone you show it to.
Where every journal starts: your word, on your own record. Nothing wrong with it. It just isn't proof.
A demo account is connected and syncing. Real trades, nothing at stake, so it does not count toward a verified record.
A live account, synced. The prices, sizes and times came from the broker, and the app will not let you edit them. That refusal is the whole point.
A confirmed payout from your firm. The strongest proof there is, because you were paid real money and the firm agrees you were.
Verification is not something you assert. It follows from the connection: link a live account, and the trades that arrive through it are verified on arrival.
A verified account stops accepting hand-logged trades, because a single typed row would make every number beside it unprovable. Keep a hand-logged account alongside it if you want one.
Recent form and career form are different questions, so your record answers both: a 30-day window and all-time, verified only or everything, grouped by the kind of account it came from.
The Terminal
DT Terminal runs in a browser and always will. That is where you sign in, log your first trade and keep journalling. The desktop app for macOS and Windows exists for the handful of things a browser tab structurally cannot do.
Drag a tab out of the strip, or right-click and choose Open in New Window, and it moves onto whichever screen you drop it on with its unsaved work intact. Your window layout is saved and comes back the way you left it.
Pop a chart into its own window and turn on Link. Symbol, timeframe and crosshair follow each other across every linked window, so one instrument stays in step on all of them. A browser can open a second tab, but it cannot hand one window's chart the other window's crosshair.
Desktop pulls candle and tick history on your own machine rather than through a shared server. Deeper history, and in the backtester real ticks decide the outcome when a single bar held both your stop and your target.
Multi-pane sessions across several instruments at once, running on local data instead of a sampled feed. The same backtester you already know, without the ceiling on how much of it you can run.
The app updates quietly in the background, and you can force a check any time from Check for Updates in the menu bar.
macOS 11 or later, Windows 10 or later. Sign in with the account you already have and everything you have set up is waiting. Links that point into DT Terminal open the app once it is installed.
Upgrading, changing a card, invoices and cancelling all happen on the website. The desktop app opens your browser for them rather than handling money in a window of its own.
The Terminal
DT Terminal mirrors your data to a local IndexedDB snapshot so you can keep reading and writing when your connection drops: on a plane, in a basement office, at a coffee shop with a flaky network.
Recent trades, journals, pulses, and strategies are served from IndexedDB. A top-of-page banner tells you you're offline.
Writes attempted while offline queue in a dedicated drawer so you know exactly what's pending. Auto-flushes when you reconnect.
On sign-out, local snapshots are wiped so a shared device doesn’t leak data between accounts.
The Terminal
Single-key shortcuts only fire on main tabs (not while typing in forms).
