XAUUSD is the price of one troy ounce of gold in US dollars. XAU is the code for gold and USD is the currency it is priced in. ### Why is my broker's gold price different? Each broker quotes its own bid and ask from its own liquidity providers, so prices can differ a little from broker to broker. The prices here are indicative bid quotes. Spreads also widen around big news and when the market opens. ### When does gold trade? Spot gold trades nearly 24 hours a day from Sunday evening to Friday evening, New York time, with a short daily break around 17:00 New York time. ### How much is one lot of XAUUSD? On most brokers one standard lot of XAUUSD is 100 ounces, so a move of 1.00 in the price is worth $100.00 a lot and 0.01 lots moves $1.00. Check your broker's contract size before you trade. ### What moves the gold price? Mostly US interest rate expectations, the US dollar, inflation data and how much risk markets want to take.
