## AUDUSD questions

### What is AUDUSD?

AUDUSD is the price of one AUD in USD. AUD is the base currency and USD is the quote currency, so the price tells you how many US dollars one AUD costs.

### Why is my broker's AUDUSD price different?

Each broker quotes its own bid and ask from its own liquidity providers, so prices can differ a little from broker to broker. The prices here are indicative bid quotes. Spreads also widen around big news and when the market opens.

### When does AUDUSD trade?

AUDUSD trades 24 hours a day, five days a week, from 17:00 New York time on Sunday to 17:00 New York time on Friday. It is busiest when London and New York are both open, roughly 12:00 to 16:00 UTC.

### How much is one lot of AUDUSD?

On most brokers one standard lot of AUDUSD is 100,000 AUD, so a one pip move (0.0001) is worth $10.00 a lot, and 0.01 lots moves $0.10 a pip. Check your broker's contract size before you trade.

### What moves the AUDUSD price?

Mostly what traders expect the Reserve Bank of Australia and the Federal Reserve to do with interest rates, inflation and jobs data from both economies, and how much risk markets want to take.
